Who we are

What this website collects

This site has no accounts, no login, no shopping basket and no comments. The only place it collects personal information is the contact form, where you choose to give us:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address, if you choose to give one
• Your postcode
• What service you are asking about
• Whatever you write in the message box

Please do not put anything in the message box that you would not want sitting in an email inbox. If you need to send us something sensitive, ring us instead.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website sets no cookies. It does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, it has no advertising pixels, no social media trackers and no third party scripts. There is nothing here that follows you around the internet afterwards, which is also why you were not shown a cookie banner. There was nothing to consent to.

What we do with your information

We use it to answer your enquiry, give you a price, arrange an appointment and carry out work if you go ahead. If you become a customer we keep enough of it to run the job and to keep the records we are required to keep, including gas safety records where the work involves gas.

We do not send marketing emails, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent your details to anyone.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law we rely on:

• Legitimate interests, for replying to an enquiry you sent us. You contacted us asking for a response, so responding is what you would reasonably expect.
• Performance of a contract, once you ask us to carry out work.
• Legal obligation, for records we are required to keep, such as gas safety records and accounting records.

Who else sees it

The contact form is delivered by Web3Forms, a form handling service. When you press send, the contents of the form pass through their system and arrive in our email inbox. They process it to deliver the message to us and their own privacy terms apply to that step.

Other than that, your information is seen by us, by our email provider, and by anyone we are legally required to show it to. If we ever need a specialist subcontractor for part of a job, we would tell you at the time.

This site itself is served as plain files with no database behind it. There is no customer record on this website to be broken into.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are cleared out of our inbox once they are clearly not going anywhere, normally within twelve months. Records relating to work we carried out are kept for as long as we are required to keep them, which for gas safety records is at least two years, and for accounting records is at least six years.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what information we hold about you
• Give you a copy of it
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete it, where we are not required to keep it
• Stop using it for a particular purpose

Email info@aenergysolutions.co.uk and we will deal with it. There is no charge and we will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling their helpline. You do not have to come to us first, though we would rather have the chance to put it right.

Links to other sites

Where we mention an outside organisation, such as the Gas Safe Register, we are describing it rather than linking you into a tracking network. Once you are on somebody else's website, their privacy policy applies, not ours.

Changes to this policy

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no version history to dig through, because this is a small business website and pretending otherwise would be theatre.
